Our Story

Agape Unlimited was founded in 1985, offering affordable Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment in Kitsap County. In 1986, we started providing shelter services for homeless, chemically dependent men. This was our first opportunity to expand our services beyond our outpatient chemical dependency treatments.

In 1989, the Koinonia Inn Transitional Housing Program opened in Port Orchard. We affectionately refer to this as the KI and are proud to help shelter pregnant, parenting women and their children. A year later, we were able to add FREE on-site licensed childcare services to the women and children who live there. This was a great addition to the licensed childcare already offered in our main office on Auto Center Way in Bremerton.

As our growth continued, the Sisyphus II Permanent Housing Program opened its doors in 1995. This program provides safe, affordable housing for low-income, homeless individuals.

In 2008, we expanded our services once again, bringing the Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) into Kitsap County. With this program, pregnant and parenting mothers receive alcohol and drug treatment while gaining the life skills needed to be successful in their recovery.

In 2020 we teamed with Peninsula Community Health to offer substance abuse and mental health treatment on our Bremerton site. We are excited to be one the first to offer this type of treatment to our clients in Kitsap County.
